Watching Daddy

Posted in Life @ The GrandSimon Wesley

Simon was absolutely fascinated by Daddy and the mower today. Since it was such a nice (relatively cool) morning, Simon and I headed to the park while Jason prepared to subdue our extremely overgrown yard. Almost as soon as we heard the mower, Simon wanted to head back home and see what the noise was all about. I held him in my arms for a good five minutes or so while we watched Daddy go round and round the front yard, and for me at least that got boring quickly. But as soon as we got in the house, Simon wanted to go back outside. So I set up the stroller, and he quietly watched Daddy mow the lawn the whole time. I hope this bodes well for his future interest in yard work.

So this morning I discovered that Simon had begun to install an uncommissioned mural. As precious as the artist is, the piece was just not what we had in mind for the dining room (thank goodness for magic erasers).

Simon was more than happy to demonstrate his technique for the camera.

He did not, however, appreciate being given an alternative canvas . . .

and banged his head in protest, claiming that Mama was trying to restrain his creative spirit.
