don't forget my favorite item not on the menu: the short capuccino. mmm.
I remember reading your post on that, Caron. And I tried it once. I ordered a grande latte (for my friend) and a short cappuccino. The barista happily took my order without saying anything, and I thought, "Cool. She knows what she's doing." Nooooo. She then proceeds to give me a grande latte and a tall cappuccino. I was in too much of a hurry to wait for her to correct the order, but it annoyed me that she just assumed that I meant "small/tall." Grrrr.
For those not in the know on the secret coffee drinks, what's a short cappuccino?
Evidently, Starbucks doesn't list the "short" size on the menu, because they want you to spend more money. But the short size does exist. John Tesh (yes, I listen to John Tesh once in a while) says that you can also ask for the child's size, and that's the same as a short.
If you've never read or listened to the Slate explanation for the non-listed short cappuccino its pretty interesting.
