Beans are fun (DPP 17)

We learned today that beans are a very satisfying alternative to water for playing and general mess making. Although I don’t love sweeping, I do prefer it to mopping up with towels and changing the toddler’s clothes. (Many thanks to RT for the idea!)

I should have mentioned you could use a tablecloth, shower curtain or tarp underneath the beans for easy cleanup. Or you could find a large flat rubbermaid bin or even a lid to contain the beans.

I was about to write in exactly what Rebecca said. This is an activity I often do with toddlers, and keep all the beans in a giant rubbermaid container, as that acts like a sandbox of sorts, and then a cheap plastic tablecloth underneath(the kind with a fuzzy underside as that, will either help grip carpet or flipped over, helps keep beans on the mat.
