Beef for stew = $2.98/lb. Bacon = something like $4.95. All other ingredients for stew = already at home, so $0. Box of California Clementines = $5.99. That Simon (a) peeled his own Cutie, (b) asked for another (and another), (c) was completely engaged and quiet the entire time I was making stew (and that Ian was also happily playing, though that was unrelated to anything I bought at the store today) = priceless.
